In April 2004, Jeff and Patrice Lawrence were invited to visit Japan as guests of Hitoshi and Yuri Sayama.
The Sayamas are the owners of the two time winner of the GDCA National Specialty:
 CH DSS KING'S RANSOM JP BERLINETTA.
While in Japan they both judged at the
GREAT DANE SOCIETY OF JAPAN'S 80TH SPECIALTY SHOW.
